The Senior Privacy office (SPO) will have oversight and subject matter expertise regarding Citi products, processes and activity relating to the collection, use and sharing of PII, and topics such as notices, choices, capabilities, cloud, Big Data, mobile, digital advertising, data breach notice and cross-border data movement. The SPO will work closely with Product Line Compliance Officers, Legal, Business stakeholders, technology, information security, and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will be someone who is a privacy subject matter expert, and has an understanding of, and an interest in learning about, privacy implications in new and emerging technologies, particularly technology related to digital and mobile finance.      

Privacy subject matter expert whose responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Provide advisory support on U.S. privacy and banking confidentiality laws to businesses and global functions.

• Develop and drive implementation of best practices, procedures, tools and checklists to support the implementation of the privacy program.

• Develop and conduct training and awareness programs.

• Conduct regulatory tracking and impact assessments.

• Monitoring of privacy issues and corrective actions plans.

• Support the development, governance and maintenance of the privacy program.

• Represent the NAM Chief Privacy Office in internal review and steering committees as requested.

This role will allow the individual to be closely involved in the identification and management of privacy compliance risk related to technologies and innovations such a cloud computing, big data and digital advertising.



  • 3 or more years of experience as a Privacy Compliance Officer or Privacy lawyer, 7+ years total experience.

  • Detailed knowledge of the U.S. Privacy laws, particularly privacy laws pertaining to Financial Institutions.

  • Knowledge of international privacy laws a plus.

  • Experience in developing practical solutions for complex privacy issues.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills. Commitment to co-operative and collaborative working.

  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office applications essential.

  • Positive attitude.
