Job Description

As a Group Leader for Mechanical Development you will lead a mechanical design group responsible for FCA and Ford Europe projects development.

The main responsibilities of the Group Leader for mechanical development are:

  • Lead a dedicated customer engineering group;

  • Develop group strategy, in line with the segment and location vision and strategy;

  • Responsible for recruiting and people development strategy implementation;

  • Develop key roles: discipline project managers, technical experts and line managers;

  • Inspire and motivate team members, encourage a continuous improvement culture;

  • Ensure projects prioritization, resource planning and dynamic staffing of project teams and task-forces;

  • Ensure projects objectives in terms of quality, time and cost;

  • Ensure process conformance;

  • Responsible for planning and execution of internal and customer audits at discipline level;

  • Responsible for quotations and innovative concept prototypes development;

  • Responsible for customer communication related to projects in his area of responsibility;

  • Report project status and escalate issues to segment and BU management;

  • Responsible for the operational business with external subcontractors.

Job Requirements

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering field;

  • Experience in mechanical design;

  • Knowledge of various quality processes form R&D and production;

  • Knowledge and experience in quality audits (ISO TS, VDA, etc);

  • Experience in product validation processes;

  • 3+ years of leadership leading teams (project team or discipline team);

  • Initiative, drive, communication skills;

  • Automotive experience is an advantage;

  • Fluent in English; German or Italian is an advantage.
