The Construction Supervisor / Safety Manager (CS/SM) will report directly to the Project Manager and will be responsible for coordinating with the Subcontractor on the ground to monitor all site activities and construction tasks, conducts quality control measures and ensure all project site deliverables an milestones are met. The CS/SM will also ensure all site safety measures are met and adhered too by the Subcontractor and its personnel workforce. The CS/SM will report to the Project Manager Primary Functions and Responsibilities: - Coordinates day to day activities with the Sub contractor and supervise all construction activities on the site . - Ensures project milestones are met and reports any foreseen delays and other issues to the Project Manager for guidance and corrective action. - Coordinates with the PSOTC camp commander and ensures subcontractor and subcontractor workforce abide by the camp’s security requirements. - Monitors all project deliverables and report all requirements and issues to the Project Manager - Ensures subcontractor and its workforce personnel adhere to all construction site safety requirements and reports safe violations to the Project Manager. - Reports all safety accidents and incidents within 2 hours of its occurance to the Project Manager - Monitors and corrects quality control issues to ensure time and quality expectations are met and reports same to the project Manager. - Generates daily reports of the site’s activities and progress and sends to the Project Manager for onward reporting. - Performs other duties as assigned.


- - Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction field. - Able to clearly interpret construction plans and blue prints and ensure its application. - 1-3 years management experience preferred. - Experience working in West Africa. - Strong oral, written communication and listening skills. - Able to communicate in French. - Communicates effectively with subcontractor and camp authorities for any related issues. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work. - Ability to adapt successfully to changing situations and environments. - Ability to multi task when needed. - Able to build positive working relationships and inspire others to participate. - Ability to work effectively and positively with all team members and all members at all levels of different organizations. - Ability to mitigate and diffuse conflict.
