Director, Capture Management

PAE-NSS is actively seeking a Director, Capture Management focused on Counter-WMD opportunities. This position will be based out of Tyson’s Corner, VA and will report to the Vice President, Business Development.

The Director, Capture Management will serve as a subject matter expert in the CWMD field and will lead the strategic planning, execution, and capture of future and current program initiatives in accordance with the company’s growth strategy. This individual must have a strong understanding of the CWMD acquisition market, an ability to assess current capabilities and develop and lead the capture efforts for opportunities exceeding $50M. The ideal candidate will need to bring, develop and maintain strong business relationships with key decision makers within the CWMD acquisition community, specifically DTRA and NNSA, and industry for the purpose of identifying customer objectives, priorities and requirements and to position PAE as an innovative services leader. The Director, Capture Management will be responsible for overall quality control, major program management support, deliverable verification and retention, customer relationship management and service delivery and providing technical expertise and support. The Director, Capture Management must be aware of and responsive to trends and opportunities that advance the overall company strategy. This individual must be able to operate within the capture processes, philosophy and policies, and maintain a professional approach to performing duties, including full awareness and compliance of applicable Federal Procurement and Company Ethics Codes and Regulations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Identification of new business opportunities with customers

  • Development and maintenance of CWMD pipeline opportunities

  • Development and execution of pursuit strategies

  • Gather program intelligence, analyze data, and assess competition

  • Support of capture efforts of new business through proposal development, capability briefings, and RFI responses

  • Support of win strategy development

  • Development of white papers and presentations representing PAE’s products and services

  • Budget development and execution

  • Build/execute teaming strategy

  • Risk assessment

  • Fiscal management (travel, management and funds tracking procedures)

  • SharePoint development to support program/project management and information sharing

  • Development/maintenance project management plans, annual/monthly/week status and financial reports

  • Working closely with recruiting and operations for divisional staffing requirements


  • 12-15+ years of relevant client experience with a minimum of 10 years of experience leading programs / projects in complex operating environments. Experience growing CONUS and international programs preferred.

  • Demonstration of significant capture management experience

  • US Citizen

  • Active US Security Clearance; Top Secret strongly preferred


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or other related field OR equivalent experience required.

  • Proven leadership, achievement and management capabilities

  • Decisive leader with the ability to make decisions independently, quickly, and with little supervision

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Outstanding strategic, analytical, and organizational capabilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Willing to travel – 25% of the time
