What you will do in this job: Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you'll provide direct, skilled nursing care to adults recovering from severe mental illnesses. You'll participate in the treatment planning, administer medication and treatment, as well as implement and chart treatment interventions. We count on you to be a patient advocate for health maintenance and clinical care. In your role, you must be a great communicator, developing long-term therapeutic relationships with our patients and therapeutically de-escalate a potentially tense situation. While LPNs work in the Psychiatric Treatment and Recovery Center (PTRC), PSNs work in the Center for Forensic Services (CFS), which is a more secure facility and as such, also provide additional security when escorting and transferring patients within or outside of CFS.
