Job Description

  • Ability to design, implement, and support of server and network components for both virtual and physical environments

  • Hands-on experience with Windows server (2008, 2012, 2016) and workstations (Windows 7, 8, 10) environments.

  • Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.

  • Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, and other network appliances.

  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required

  • Participate in managing all network security solutions

  • Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.

  • Proficiency with SQL Server, Active Directory, domain controllers, IP addressing, DNS, VPNs, and remote access.

  • Demonstrated Knowledge and skills installing and administrating SAN equipment. Perform network design and capacity planning.

  • Analyzes and resolves network hardware, software, and communications problems using diagnostic software and/or technical troubleshooting processes.

  • Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs. Hands-on Experience Cisco VPN

  • Administer all equipment, hardware and software upgrades.

  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.

  • Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.

  • Monitor and test network performance, provide network performance statistics and reports, and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.

  • Establish and implement policies, procedures, and technologies (including firewalls) to ensure network security.

Qualifications

  • Must have an active DoD SECRET clearance

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent training and experience is required.

  • At least three years’ equivalent work experience in a technical analytical position responsible for managing server environments

  • Project management skills a definite asset.

  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.

  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.

  • Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.

  • Hands-on routing knowledge of network/internet protocols/services such as VPLS, MPLS, T1, GigE, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, DNS, IPSec, and NAT.

  • Current security certification such as CISSP, CEH, and Security+ are a plus.

  • Should have experience working with system, firewall, database, application logs.

  • Should have experience monitoring and reporting on system vulnerabilities.

  • Must be experienced in Microsoft Active Directory, security settings, group policies.
