CoolWorks Position Opening at CoolWorks in United States

So you love skiing, or riding, (or both!) and you get a kick out of helping others enjoy it too. You are halfway there! Sharing in another’s sense of accomplishment is a powerful experience and one that as an instructor you will be rewarded with everyday.

First and foremost all of the guests and employees are here at Stevens Pass to have fun! Instructors spend more time with guests than any other employee and while they are tasked with improving the skiing/riding ability of their students, their primary goal is to keep them safe, and make a personal connection with each individual. It’s this focus on connection that creates a fun experience that inspires a love for the sport and encourages them to return. For the majority of our lesson assignments, an empathetic, patient yet outgoing personality and a passion for helping others learn is more important than an advanced, technical ability. So while previous snowsports teaching experience is highly desired, it is not required.

Instructors are assigned to our different lesson programs based on their experience, availability, personality and work performance. They also contribute to the operation of the school and the rental shop beyond just the lessons and are often assigned to perform ambassadorial or labor duties to support our programs. We provide a large variety of both paid and voluntary training opportunities for all experience levels.

Our team is made up of around 250 employees. Most are part-time due to the nature of our day-visit business volume (very busy weekend and holiday periods, much slower mid-week). We hire ski, snowboard and dual instructors that are based out of either our Youth or Teen/Adult Programs and are generally scheduled to work in either daily group, private or multi-week lessons on any given day depending on experience and availability.

Work levels vary based on full/part time status, performance and customer demand and base pay is determined by certification and experience.
