RadioShack Product Development Manager in United States


The Product Development Manager will be responsible for driving the product vision, strategy and brand integrity that support RadioShack private and/or exclusive brand business. PDM will identify and evaluate potential product opportunities, build business cases and define product requirements that align to RadioShack’s strategic goals.

Product Development:

  • Will act as liaison between buyer/planning/marketing/engineering/supply chain and e-commerce teams

  • Will be the sole contact with international buying offices on development/execution and delivery

  • Works with PD management on building trends/colors for key milestone meetings

  • Presents strategy during SKO to buyers/buying team leadership seasonal trends and roadmap of season

  • Will build/develop exclusive product with international buying team through tech pack with engineering team

  • Track development from submits of tech pack, BOM costing, samples, and delivery to ensure product delivered on time

  • Presents line assortment during Line Preview to buying team/buying team leadership and executive leadership

  • Presents final line assortment to buyers/buying team leadership and ensures orders placed on time.

  • Ensures buyers submit sample requests and follows up on buyer’s samples and TOP (top of production) samples for PD team

  • Ensure issues/problems that arise are resolved in a timely manner and/or escalated if needed

  • Submit weekly recap to management to ensure they are up-to-date in regard to development timeline and execution

Brand Management:

  • Will work closely with international buying offices to ensure the brand strategy is followed to guidelines

  • Present to management product assortment that are aligned to respective brand

  • Will ensure the product and packaging are consistent with the overarching brand strategy

  • Work with packaging and marketing team to present packaging options on new product and brand launches to ensure brand integrity is aligned with overall assortment


  • Work closely with International buying team, possible travel to Asia

  • Demonstrate excellent presentation and communication skills as a product, project and presentation leader

  • Demonstrate the ability to build partnerships across cross-functional teams and vendor base

  • Successfully create and manage product strategies; resource planning, risk evaluation, and communications

  • Ensure that the development process meets deadlines

  • Ensures issues are resolved in a timely manner and escalated to management as needed

  • Ensures contingency plans are in place and action plans in place for delivery issues

  • Meet weekly with buying team and keep open communication on assortment in development/delivery

  • Present market intelligence and share any emerging innovation trends

  • Work closely with packaging manager to ensure packaging guidelines are adhered

  • Work closely with marketing/management on new packaging die lines and concepts on new product

  • Launch new brands

  • Recommend and present store placement options on new brand and new emerging technology


  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 2 years of experience in product development and brand management

  • 2 years of experience in sourcing and vendor negotiations

  • 3 years of experience in consumer electronics with excellent technical skills

  • Must be proficient with word, excel, PowerPoint and PDM

  • Ability to travel domestic/overseas
