PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
We look for new developers in the Technology Core Platform department, where we build SAP’s application servers and platforms. We design programming languages, build application server infrastructure, tools and IDEs for programming SAP’s next generation business applications in the cloud and on-premise. Our deliverables are used by more than 12 million people in 120 countries around the world.
XS Technology delivers the next generation application server infrastructure and application programming model for developing applications for SAP HANA on premise and SAP HANA Cloud Platform. For this purpose, the XS Technology team builds frameworks and tools to develop, manage and operate apps written in Java, Node.js and further languages. On top, we offer a rich set of services to these apps for convenient integration with the HANA data platform and with SAP UI5/Fiori (via OData).
You will join a team that works at the interface between HANA and the application services on top, contributing software to both sides. You have the chance to interact with customers and stakeholders to acquire early feedback on your deliverables and get the opportunity to enhance your software engineering skills and drive your personal development.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Very good university degree (Bachelor/Diploma/Master/Doctor) in computer science, physics, mathematics, or related fields.
Fluency in German and English both spoken and written.
Good communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Good knowledge in database management systems and SQL.
Operating system knowledge and familiarity with Linux and command line tools.
Experience with Test-Driven-Development, continuous integration, committer/contributor model and pair programming, ideally with knowledge in using Git.
Knowledge in compiler technology.
C programming skills.
