PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
SAP Custom Development is a fast-growing global organization dedicated to delivering innovative custom solutions that address our customers’ unique and competitive business requirements. In addition, SAP Custom Development is in charge of developing Focused Business Solutions (FBS), which are SAP standard products that address the specialized needs of niche market segments. By extending and enhancing SAP solutions or building entirely new ones, SAP Custom Development helps customers around the world to flexibly, quickly and safely adapt to rapidly changing business and market conditions. We deliver a full lifecycle of development services – from the planning of a development project through delivery and maintenance of the solution. With development centers in Walldorf, St. Ingbert, Newtown Square, Montreal, Bangalore, Shanghai, Palo Alto, Delhi, Tokyo, Sao Leopoldo and Moscow, we are able to leverage a global delivery model that utilizes the specific strengths of each location. Since SAP Custom Development is a fast growing organization, we are looking for a talented Project Manager to further strengthen our execution teams.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
University degree or equivalent
Strong negotiation and problem solving skills to deliver solutions according to contracts
Ability to build customer and in-house relationships to explain complex topics in a convincing and clear manner also to senior executives
Proven project management skills such as creating time lines, deducting staffing and identifying appropriate skill sets
Ability to build and lead virtual developments teams (China, India)
Strong communication and presentation skills
Fluent German and English in speaking and writing is mandatory
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
A proven track record of successfully leading large development projects that generally exceed 1000 person days
High competency in evaluations and contract negotiations
Experience in the management of development-related projects, particularly projects where a significant portion of the team is located in remote locations like India and China
Managing custom specific development projects across the entire project life cycle (specification, design, execution, solution delivery, acceptance, handover and maintenance)
Experience in internal and external expectation-, risk- and change management
Have a proven track record also in business orientation, e.g. commercial change requests
Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 5-7 years in SAP
Experience to work under pressure in global project teams
