PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

More than ever, the user experience will be critical to SAP’s strategy to become THE Cloud Company powered by SAP HANA. Supporting our customers is being taken to the next level with new applications and web based tools both for customers and employees of SAP.
In this context, the User interface designer (UI designer, UX expert) in Product Support is responsible for the consistent UI & App design in her/his domain.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Be part of a new development team located Germany and Shanghai and work with highly motivated colleagues to the agile development methodology. Collaborate with Support Infrastructure Team and Product Support Delivery Teams.
Create and iteratively improve user interfaces for our business products
Shape a consistent visual language for our end users that draws on a clear visual hierarchy, typography, iconography, and color scheme
Create crossplatform UI guidelines and pixellevel specifications
Work closely with the team (project lead, developers, end users) to holistically understand business and user requirements, and derive adequate UI designs
Actively drive visual design improvements during the concept and design process and ensure the best possible implementation
Contribute to prototyping, user testing and regular design critique sessions to continuously improve the design quality
Immersing yourself quickly into new topics, terminology and end user tasks
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
University degree in User Interface Design or a related field
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and German
Outstanding visual design skills and a sense for aesthetics and simplicity
Good ability to comprehend and master complex contexts and transforming them into visual concepts
Expert knowledge of prototyping tools, e.g. SAP Splash, Balsamiq, Axure
Proficiency in Design Thinking and usercentered design processes and projects
Experience in presenting design ideas to developers and business users
Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch etc.
Experience in conducting usability testing
Preferred skills / beneficial:
Good Enterprise software design experience
Experience in print design, layout, typography
