PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
We are looking for thesis students (f/m) who have an attitude for translating modern supply chain business requirements into highly scalable solutions. The candidate (f/m) will support SAP Supply Chain Planning development in the area of Supply and Response Planning or Transportation Management with a strong focus on design and architecture of high performing algorithms.
The planning procedures are characterized by high scalability concerning the volume to be planned (procedure efficiency), broad functionality and seamless integrations into the SCM applications. The solution will natively exploit SAP’s state-of-the-art HANA application platform and HANA Enterprise Cloud.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
We are a strong team of highly qualified experts that will coach and advise you during your thesis and will act as contact partners to support you to tackle new and challenging tasks.
The successful candidate (f/m) will have the opportunity to contribute with his or her thesis in the conceptions and development of the “next generation” planning solution that with SAP’s leadership will be introduced into leading companies across multiple industries worldwide.
We offer the following thesis topics:
Advanced simulations (What-if analysis) in Response Management;
Deployment planning in combination with load consolidation;
GAMS integration with HANA and SAP’s optimization offering;
Evaluation of local searches and solvers like LocalSolver on real world MIPs.
Enthusiasm to solve complex problems using state of the art approaches;
Motivations to work in a cross functional scrum team and to interact with others;
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Student (f/m) - Preferred field(s) of study: Computer Science, Mathematics or comparable
Computer skills: Knowledge in C
Language skills: Fluent in German and English (oral and written)
Soft skills: strong communications and networking skills
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Ideally familiar with agile development methodology
Experience in Optimization and/or Operations Research know-how is an advantage
