Under the direction of the Plant President, the ideal candidate will manage all production activities. The Production Manager will be responsible for continuous and efficient production and desired quality and quantity of work while directing activities of department supervisors with respect to production volume, cost and quality of production.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall plant production, production schedules and delivery dates.

The Production Manager will also:

• Develop and maintain departmental policies which are consistent with the overall company policies

• Develop and maintain a work group which is capable of meeting departmental objectives

• Select, hire and train new employees and maintain a cross-training program for existing personnel

• Recommend measures to improve manufacturing methods and the quality of finished products

• Initiate personnel actions on system members, such as salary increases, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action up to and including termination

• Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules


• Understand and comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations and company policies with regard to safety

• Must be familiar with Technical Newsletters, changes in policies and procedures and the ability to work with blueprints

• Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices

• Responsible for maximum utilization of equipment and facilities and for recommending changes in equipment, production techniques or materials and tooling necessary

• Responsible for the proper maintenance of the plant and production facilities including preventive maintenance programs

• Select, hire, train, review and approve recommendations of subordinates in matters of personal actions such as to hire, transfer, promote and discipline up to and including termination

• Confer with the Plant President in the establishment of shift standards and working schedules for all production departments

• Meet quality control requirements on all items manufactured in the plant

• Maintain conformance to budget limitations in all departments

• Recommend equipment and facility requirements


• Must have the knowledge to work in a computerized environment with Mirosoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint

• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control

• Must have good communication skills both written and verbal

• 7 – 8 years previous production experience

• High School Diploma
