Responsible for oversight of the Automated Forecasting and Revenue Management System (AFRMS); work with the Revenue Management Department to liaise the AFRMS vendor and Amtrak’s IT department or day-to-day operations and developing and implementing system enhancements; maintain AFRMS to ensure the quality of the AFRMS ridership and revenue forecast output, recommended price point allocations, and the overall business performance (measured by metrics such as ridership, revenue, and RASM).


Ensure that the system parameters are accurate and up-to-date based on existing business and market conditions and make adjustments by consulting with Revenue Managers and conducting independent strategic analyses and evaluations; diagnose and resolve defects and technical performance issues, working with the IT department and the AFRMS vendor; develop and implement the strategic roadmap for the AFRMS which includes defining product enhancements, objectives and requirements by conducting research, analysis and business intelligence; create and oversee the execution of business requirements, functional requirements, as well as leading all user acceptance testing efforts; building mathematical models and maintaining data availability and accuracy; collaborate with vendor and external departments to provide business and technical support through the Revenue Management System deployment lifecycle; collaborate with IT to provide business and technical support regarding revenue management functionality in the Arrow mainframe system.


Employer will accept Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research or related field; and 2 years of work experience in job offered or 2 years of work experience in a related occupation. Experience must include: experience in the pricing and revenue management field in the travel or transportation industry; database language, such SQL, SAS, Oracle, or Microsoft Access; Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel or similar applications; and experience working with and managing large data sets. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
