Responsibilities:
- Use advanced expertise in network technologies to assist with network design, deployment and support.
- Analysis of business and technical requirements for network infrastructure and manages key projects related to the agencies next generation data center activities.
- Designs and builds infrastructure based solutions related to network security (Active Directory), SAN storage, communications networks, disaster recovery (backups) and resource monitoring.
- Expert knowledge in IT infrastructure design and architecture across multiple distributed computing technologies.
- Advanced expertise to manage and administer SAN, NAS, SAS and DASD resources.
- Advanced expertise to manage and administer VMware environments.
- Build in depth work plans for all assignments (tasks, timelines, owners), provide detailed status updates and produce comprehensive project documentation.
Create and maintain documentation and diagrams on network infrastructure, hosting infrastructure and backup and network monitoring.
Requirements:
VMWare experience version 4 or 5 2 years experience
- SAN Storage experience (Net App or EMC) 4 years experience
- Writing/Documentation experience 10 years experience
- Process definition/improvement 10 years experience
- Network Archticture experience 10 years experience
- Disaster Recovery Planning (Backup) experience 5 years experience
- VMware Certification
- Requirements Gathering 10 years experience
- Microsoft Active Directory Management Experience 3 years experience
- Microsoft Active Directory Design Experience 3 years experience
- Microsoft Group Policy Experience 3 years experience
