Office Applications Specialist


Job Description:

Types, edits, corrects, etc. documents, charts, tables, etc. as required. Proofreads, edits, and corrects OCR'd text files. Responsible for routine file maintenance, including maintaining backup copies of original files, as well as working files. Performs quality control over own work and work of peers. Performs simple maintenance on office machines such as copiers and fax machines. Organizes and maintains correspondence files. Works fairly independently; does not require constant, close supervision. May serve in a coordinating role for a pool of Word Processors, monitoring workload and progress, and performing quality control. Provides user services and support at an advanced level for specific office application packages, particularly word processing, graphics/presentation, and spreadsheet packages. Provides tips and assistance to other users in best use of these packages. Familiarity with IPRO scanning software, Adobe Acrobat, and Omnipage with the ability to scan documents as well as processing of daily case-related incoming and outgoing mail. Task responsibility for hand deliveries in rush circumstances when other alternatives cannot be made.


Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.

At least two years of word processing experience, including one year in the specific office automation environment required (e.g., JCON 2a, MS Word Office 12/Microsoft Office 2003). Must be able to type at a minimum rate of 65 wpm with an accuracy rate of 95%. High school diploma or GED required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Ability to produce highest quality work under extreme pressure very important. Knowledgeable of IPRO, Adobe Acrobat, and Omnipage scanning software suits. Experience with Relativity would be ideal, but not a requirement.
