Your tasks and responsibilities

The purpose of the Global Quality Manager role is to globally assure product quality and production/formulation efficiency by changing/creating awareness, and development and implementation of the quality strategy with accompanying quality principles and methods. Main focus on the Biologics business.

The primary responsibilities of this role, Global Quality Manager, are to: •Serve as a single point of contact for quality topics regarding Biologics products for the global regions (NA, LATAM, EMEA, APAC) and other key functions in PS, and other departments; •Lead and direct implementation of Quality Management (QM) governance (policies & initiatives) for Product Supply Globally at all biologics manufacturing sites and ensure compliance is met; •Direct and implement new and continuous improvement with BCS Biologic methods to ensure quality and efficacy of biologic products are met minimizing product quality issues; •Perform, report and implement robust and sustainable corrective actions globally pertaining to BCS; •Direct and oversee commercial technical transfer of biologics products at contract and other BCS sites globally by collaborating with technical subject matter experts to ensure no product supply interruption and successful implementation from a quality perspective. Includes managing product quality issues and product release activities; •Develop process descriptions, procedures, guidelines, process indicators and checklists to aid in implementation and assessment of management systems and processes at Crop Science Sites; •Conduct quality audits at Crop Science production/formulation sites to assess the effectiveness of management systems, production processes and inspection/monitoring activities with regard to delivering products and services that meet technical, commercial and regulatory requirements; •Coordinate with stakeholders in Product Supply (and others if needed) to develop and implement measures for resolving quality issues and improve the quality of products.

More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: •Bachelor’s 10+ years, Master’s 6-8+ years or PhD 4-6 years – within the area of Biology, Microbiology, Agricultural Science, Chemistry or other related scientific discipline; •Recognized authority in the field of Quality Assurance with a minimum of 10+ years’ experience; •Knowledge in regulatory requirements and quality standards for production operations and analytical laboratories (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 17025, GLP, GMP) and experience in auditing these systems; •Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have effective interpersonal skills in order to interface with a wide range of staff; •Proven successful (virtual) leadership skills; •Willingness to travel globally (up to 20% of time).
