Use architectural and drafting skills in combination with a keen understanding of ceiling products and their manufacturing methods to take architects’ ceiling concepts and transform into specifiable, commercially viable ceiling systems.


• Collaborate with USG Architectural Sales Representatives, Architects, manufacturing, and product development personnel on ceiling designs to bring them to manufacturing reality. • Travel as necessary to work directly with Architects on workable designs. • Engineer entire ceiling systems to meet design intent including panels, suspension, transitions, and moldings. • Provide product drawings as required to USG Manufacturing and routing • Work with manufacturing plant(s) on fit and function analysis to assure ceiling system performance. • After the sale, visit jobsite to assure quality of installation. • Interact with product development personnel and product management on mainstream product opportunities that are incubated on custom ceiling projects • Participate in and provide direction for product development, test projects, and mockups to establish final product definitions prior to marketing plans.


Architectural Skills • Demonstrated ability to understand and apply architectural design principles at a high level • Proficient at designing within the latest AutoCAD environment, including BIM • Ability to read and interpret complex and complete sets of architectural drawings • Maintain licensure and accreditation as an architect

Ceiling Product Knowledge • Complete understanding of all ceiling systems components and their installations • Complete understanding of ceiling product manufacturing equipment and it’s capabilities and limitations

Technical Product Knowledge • Must understand the technical side of both ceiling panel and grid product applications • Must have a clear understanding of manufacturing process and limitations of that process • Possess an in-depth understanding of most building systems and trades

Work Environment • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment • Ability to work with high performing cross-functional teams • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities


Education/Certifications/Licenses Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture License in Architecture preferred

Years of Experience 3-5 year combined ceilings business/architecture

Required Skills AutoCAD design/Revit, blueprint reading, technical aspects of all ceiling systems, MS Office Suite

Preferred Skills Understanding of the manufacturing process for ceiling products and metal fabrication
