Bayer Deputy Director - Scientific Communication & Education in Whippany, NJ, New Jersey
Your tasks and responsibilities
Position Purpose: • Direct the development and implementation of global communication strategies in consultation with medical leads, clinical development, marketing department, internal/external experts and opinion leaders; • Lead the global scientific communications efforts for Bayer's oncology products, involving cross-functional, multinational international experts and outside partners and ensuring integration and alignment of training, publication and congress, MSL and TL plans; • Direct the development and implementation of internal scientific communications to ensure that new product and scientific information and disseminated appropriately to medical affairs colleagues globally; • Develop and maintain global training platforms and materials to ensure currency with latest developments; • Direct external partners for maintenance and creation of new content relate to ongoing projects; • Plan and manage timeline, budget and manpower against the global communication plans and approved resources. Proactively initiate corrective action as needed; • Provide support and assist in planning of country strategy for the launch of new compounds and life cycle management of marketed Bayer oncology products; • Ensuring Compliance and Safety – act as a role model, demonstrating consistent ethical and professional behavior and ensuring compliance with all relevant BHC SOPs, WPs, and ICH, as well as with legal and ethical standards.
Who you are
Qualifications: • Advanced degree (M.D, Ph.D, PharmD, MScs or equivalent) in a scientific discipline; • Minimum of six years' experience in oncology, of which a five years' experience includes scientific communications, medical writing and publications; • Disease and therapeutic area knowledge in oncology; • Proven ability to interpret scientific and clinical study data and present that information in different formats for various audience; • Understanding of global regulations and guidelines; • Understanding of the drug development process over different stages; • Strong negotiation and strategic influencing skills; • Thorough knowledge of company policies and processes; • Strong written and oral communication skills; • Strong organization and time management skills; • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; • Experience leading cross-functional teams, across cultures and geographies
