AbbVie Associate Scientist I, Biologics Immunology Antibody Drug Conjugate in Worcester, Massachusetts

Abbvie has an opening for an Associate Scientist, Antibody Drug Conjugate (ADC) Group at our Bioresearch Center in Worcester, MA. The ADC group collaborates with drug discovery project teams across all Abbvie therapeutic areas including Oncology and Immunology. The ideal candidate will effectively collaborate with chemists, biologists and immunologists to characterize large and small molecules for ADC development.

Key Responsibilities: * Design and execute in-vitro assays for screening of biologics, small molecules and antibody drug conjugates o Reporter, cytokine release and antibody internalization assays * Generate and characterize transient and stable cell lines to support antibody drug conjugate programs. o Lipid transfection and lenti-viral infections * Characterize lead molecules and confirm mechanism of action * Maintain cell lines and media prep * Routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments * Demonstrate scientific excellence, work ethic, and dedication to team and project goals * Work collaboratively in a matrix with project teams and members of the Global Biologics Group to drive innovation and deliver novel therapies to our patients * Develop productive collaborations and communication with other groups across therapeutic areas

Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in related discipline with 1 or more years of experience * Experience with screening large and small molecules in cell assays (eg luminescent reporter, proliferation and cytokine release assays)
* Experience culturing adherent, suspension and primary cell lines and in generating transient/stable transfectants * Proficiency with performing flow cytometry and ELISA experiments * Experienced with qPCR and automated western blot analysis * Experience working with high throughput laboratory workflows and instruments such MACsQuant, Canto, microbeta, Wes, Amnis Imagestream, Via7 (taqman) and spectramax plate readers. * Experience documenting experimental methods and results into an electronic notebook * Summarize and articulate results to project teams.
