Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description / Responsibilities:

  • Project management methodologies, tools and techniques to track product flow.

  • Perform a variety of engineering work in the planning, design and development of new products, tools, machines, and manufacturing processes.

  • Working with other engineering disciplines in the development and sustaining process to ensure continuous improvement in Productivity and Quality.

  • Plans, directs, and coordinates new and existing manufacturing equipment and implementation projects.

  • Designs, implements and troubleshoots process improvements and machinery.

  • Working with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods to ensure products are designed for manufacturability.

  • Working with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts and evaluates products according to specification and quality standards.

  • Working with management, engineering, and all other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

  • Investigation process designs for improving performance or other factors, or to obtain data for improvement.

  • Provides technical advice and counsel to maintenance and other professionals.

  • Responsible for collecting and reviewing production data from production cell to ensure implemented process improvements are sustained.

  • Train production operator on lean principles and electronics manufacturing processes to increase production’s efficiency and quality.

  • Research and review industry trends and technological advancements for products and processes.

  • Design assembly drawings and fixtures/jigs for assembly work cells and process lines. This provides work instructions for the operators.

  • Train production operator on new machines and manufacturing processes.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering. Engineering Technology Degrees are also preferred.

  • 2-5 years of experience.

  • Knowledge of engineering concepts and principles – Design for Manufacturability, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance and process engineering, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Design/Process Control Methods.

  • Computer Skills – CAS (Pro E, Inventor, Auto CAD), MS Office.

  • Experience working with PCB’s, PCBA’s, Surface Mount Technology, and LEDs.

  • Ability to carry multiple projects concurrently and prioritize focus as needed.

  • Strong analytical skills: the ability to use sound judgement to comprehend multiple variables to solve problems, improve processes and to accurately forecast future activities.

  • Understanding of Bill of Material (BOM) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.

  • Strong organization skills and problems solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to interact with multiple customers and cross-functional disciplines.

  • This position requires access to technology, material, software or hardware that is controlled by export laws of the US. In order to be eligible, you must be either a US citizen or permanent resident.
