Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Houston Regional Commercial Banking Office (RCBO) as a Senior Relationship Manager focused on prospecting new business relationships and managing a complex portfolio of middle market commercial account relationships. This RM5 position will play a leadership role in assisting the RVP in elevating the flagship Houston office to best in class performance. The RM5 role is positioned for success with support from a top ranked BDO, seasoned credit leadership through 2 Loan Team Managers and a skilled Credit Team.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for leading the team, executing strategic initiatives, working with product partners, and being active in the community as the face of Wells Fargo. Responsibilities include:

  • Meeting annual revenue goals by actively generating new business through prospecting and cross sell efforts

  • Representing the bank in developing and maintaining client relationships with the most important/key clients

  • Originating, structuring and executing the most complex commercial middle market transactions, including but not limited to, investment banking, treasury management products, commercial lending and/or non-credit related products

  • Coaching/mentoring the development of more junior level relationship managers

/Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following, and adhering to all applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements./

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of account management experience, sales experience, or a combination of both

Desired Qualifications:

  • Account relationship management experience

  • Strong credit analysis skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of commercial or specialty group: lending, loan servicing, products, and credit practices

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of negotiating: interest rates, price, terms, and collateral requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of risk management

  • Experience consistently delivering strong sales performance

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills
