Parsons has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Government Property Administrator. The Government Property Compliance Manager will be responsible for Government Property administration and compliance across the business unit, inclusive of projects and major office locations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and administering property control program and audit activities to ensure continual accountability and compliance with Government Property or company property in accordance with applicable government regulations or corporate policy. The candidate will work with Program Managers and Project Property Managers and Administrators to ensure that property accountability records are properly maintained and documented from order placement through closeout and final disposition. Conducts property audits at various project sites and major offices; provides guidance on government regulations pertaining to property accountability; develops, recommends, and implements property administration policy and procedure; and prepares periodic and special purpose reports. Represents the organization as a prime contact with internal and external personnel related to government property. The successful candidate will operate from one of our major locations, to include Huntsville, AL, Centreville, VA or San Antonio, TX, and will manage Government Property staff members. This opportunity does require travel.


  • Administers property control program and audit activities to ensure continual accountability of government and company property in accordance with applicable government regulations or corporate policy

  • Coordinates with Program Managers and Project Property Administrators to ensure documentation and maintenance of property records

  • Conducts property audits; provides guidance and training on government regulations and policies pertaining to property accountability.

  • Maintains an awareness of regulatory changes and their impact on contracts

  • Develops, recommends, and implements property administration policy and procedure

  • Identifies government property issues and provides leadership in developing solutions to a variety of complex problems

  • Prepares periodic and special purpose reports

  • Represents the organization as a prime contact with customers and outside organizations, interacting with senior personnel on significant matters

  • Provides training or direction to Government Property Administration staff, as well as Project Property Administrators

  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information

  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company

  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, management or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience with 6 or more years of progressive experience in government property administration.

National Property Management Association (NPMA) Certification(s) is preferred. Experience converting to a new government property tracking system is preferred.

Ability to work on computer for long periods and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some limited (20%) travel required.

Competency Summary

Must have an in depth understanding of government property administration principles, theories and concepts as well as a strong understanding of property administration practices, techniques, and standards. Must possess: (1) the ability to exercise independent judgment in solving a variety of complex tasks and issues; (2) strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report and present findings; (3) good interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of employees including management and outside representatives; and, (4) strong computer skills. The ability to work independently or lead in a team environment is essential, as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
