The Director of Sales – Commercial will oversee assigned Sales Team for the SCS Field Sales Team for the Regulated Medical Waste Business in support of the delivery of sales to new and existing clients. As a leader within Stericycle Compliance Solutions, this position is responsible for developing sales talent and building lasting internal and external relationships in-line with Stericycle culture. Key Job Activities:
Oversee Sales activities for the field Regulated Medical Waste sales team within assigned area of responsibility.
Selects, trains, and develops an effective and efficient staff in support of delivering Regulated Medical Waste Team revenue goals.
Makes every reasonable effort to select, train, and develop qualified, diverse workforce.
Establishes and communicates performance standards and objectives; conducts performance appraisals.
Recommends salary adjustments, promotions, transfers and dismissals.
Monitors operations and staff and recommends, when necessary, changes in methods, procedures, structure, and additions or changes in personnel to secure optimum utilization of resources.
Counsels team members on educational and job opportunities, which will enhance their career development, and keeps staff informed of current problems, changes, and new developments in the department and company by conducting periodic meetings.
Administers all Company policies and procedures, communicates to staff, interprets, as necessary, and ensures compliance and safety.
Monitors and ensures that team members are performing their functions safely and productively. Makes recommendations for changes or improvement, when necessary, in order to prevent accident or injuries.
Monitors department work productivity, reports on trends, and recommends and implements changes to continually improve work productivity.
Manages lead generation by being visible and active with prospective clients including delivering speaking engagements, when appropriate.
Develop sales plan with proactive approach which delivers to the Integrated Sales and Marketing Strategy.
Develop and support a consistent, documented sales methodology. Deliver on the Integrated Sales & Marketing Strategic Plan.
Participate in the development of operating goals and objectives; recommend, implement, and administer methods and procedures for sales organization.
Responsible for sales team accountability to a sales discipline while guiding and mentoring sales team (both new and existing team members).
Proactively partner with Account Management and Marketing teams to develop and integrated client-facing strategy.
Responsible for communicating and representing the Stericycle Communications Solutions Brand to external customers.
Deliver all appropriate Sales data to the Marketing CRM database while building compliance and accountability for all related parties.
Education equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or Management, or the equivalent in related work experience
Ten or more years of sales experience including at least 5 years of sales management experience, preferable in both face–to-face and telephone sales models
Experience in service related sales and sales management preferred.
Demonstrates a solid knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Extensive travel up to 50% of time may be required.Travel may vary in frequency and duration.
